Ukraine deploys StarGate drone prototype to cut casualty evacuation times

Ukraine has introduced the StarGate flying ambulance drone prototype to a combat brigade for frontline testing. The drone can carry up to 150 kg, fly at 105 km/h, and navigate difficult terrain like minefields and damaged roads, potentially reducing evacuation times from hours or days to minutes. It uses advanced AI and satellite communication systems to operate despite interference and can also intercept hostile drones. Its real combat effectiveness is yet to be confirmed.

Ukraine has received the StarGate flying ambulance drone prototype for testing by a frontline combat brigade, aiming to accelerate the evacuation of wounded soldiers from hard-to-reach areas.

The remotely operated drone can carry up to 150 kilograms and travel at speeds of up to 105 km/h. Its ability to fly over obstacles such as minefields, rivers, and damaged roads could significantly shorten evacuation times from hours or days to just minutes, potentially enabling faster medical attention for casualties.

Equipped with Starlink satellite connectivity, SkyFall’s L-Link system, and AI-assisted technology, the drone is designed to function even when satellite navigation is disrupted. It also demonstrated defensive capabilities by deploying a net to intercept hostile drones.

While the prototype is now undergoing frontline trials, the manufacturer SkyFall has not yet published test results, and the drone’s performance in actual combat evacuations remains to be independently verified.
