Samuel Eto’o, the former Cameroon international football star and current president of the Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT), is facing a new embezzlement complaint filed at the Special Criminal Court of Yaoundé.

The complaint was lodged by the Association of Amateur Clubs of Cameroon (ACFAC), which alleges that Eto’o accepted public funds intended to cover expenses already paid for by the organizers of Cameroon’s 2023 friendly matches against Russia and Mexico.

The association claims this constitutes misappropriation of public funds. Additionally, ACFAC has accused the Russian Football Union of breaching its contract with FECAFOOT by transferring approximately 567,000 euros (about $654,000) into a bank account not belonging to the Cameroonian federation.

As of the report on October 15, 2026, Eto’o has not publicly responded to the allegations.
